What is a duplicate?
A duplicate is a new education document marked “duplicate”. It is issued by the educational institution that issued the original, based on its archive records. A duplicate has the same legal force as the original: you can use it for diploma recognition, admissions and work. If both the diploma and supplement are lost, we replace both.
If the university or school has closed
Over the years, many educational institutions have been renamed, merged or closed. Their archives do not disappear: a duplicate is issued by the successor institution or the institution holding the records. Finding it is our job. You only need to give us the institution's name and your graduation year.
Apostille for a duplicate
The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus issues apostilles for duplicates, just as for originals. Each document is apostilled separately: a diploma and supplement mean two apostilles. We arrange them together in one order so you do not have to revisit the issue.
Details on a duplicate
A duplicate is issued with the details shown on the original. If you have since changed your surname, the duplicate will show your previous surname. To avoid questions abroad, a marriage certificate or surname change certificate with an apostille is often also needed. It can be added to the same order.
Timeframes
The timeframe depends on the educational institution and whether an archive search is needed. We will give you an exact date in your quote, before you pay. An apostille for a completed duplicate takes 7–14 working days, or 5 with urgent service. If you need to meet a university admission or recognition application deadline, tell us the date from the outset.
